Is It Hopeless?

It depends. If you want a full head of hair and to look like you’ve never lost any hair, the situation is indeed hopeless. However, if you are willing to accept moderate scalp coverage (the appearance of some thinning), with some bald areas not fully covered or only thinly covered, there is hope. This hope increases if you are open to using both Robotic FUE and Manual FUE graft harvest methods and considering body hair transplants (beard, chest, and abdomen hair).

A single harvest method, either Manual FUE or Robotic FUE, is limited to 4,000-6,000 grafts (achieved over several procedures). If you are willing to use more than one harvest method, the number of available grafts increases to 8,000-10,000 grafts, usually enough to cover all bald areas with moderate density. Body hair grafts can typically add another 2,000-4,000 grafts.

Even in cases of extreme hair loss, a hair transplant is reasonable if your expectations are realistic and you are willing to accept multiple procedures, multiple harvest methods, and adjunct products or procedures.
